My father, Russell Arsenault, QMC(SS), passed away in Feb. 1998 of lung cancer. He was on the Odax but I can't recall the years accurately. I do think they were the late 50's or early 60's. Just wanted you all to know...

I found this picture a few months ago and anyone who stood a lookout or OD watch it will probably give the shutters, chills ..... it is the IREX one of our sister ships... and boy do I remember a few of those storms where you looked up at the sea... and took the biggest gulp of air you could... hope you all had a very nice holiday season...

I remember trying to get Joe Sabadish to remember where the WRT Flood & Suction Valve was so he could get qualified. Hopeless....just hopeless! Good to see your name on the site, Joe!!

My father, Charles D. Nielsen, served on the ODAX in late 40's. Can't wait to share this with him! Great site!

I qualified aboard the Odax on May 6,1966. Gordon R. Vogelein was the CO. My brother, Charles (QMC-SS) retired, turned me onto this web sight which is "outstanding".
